Christine Mummery: regenerating the heart
Christine Mummery relocated her laboratory from the Hubrecht Institute to Leiden University Medical Center because she wanted to work more closely with clinicians. After studying growth factors in early mouse development and working to derive embryonic stem cells, she turned her attention to developing cardiomyocytes and learning what these cells could do in the body.
